General Scholarship Scheme for Japanese Students for the Academic Year 2018-19

1. Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India has decided to offer 10 Scholarships for the Japanese students studying Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in various subjects under the General Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2018 – 19.

2. From this academic year, the applicant will have to apply for the scholarship online on the ICCR portal (URL 205.147.97.190/iccr). The last date of submission of application online on the portal is 28 February 2018.

3. It may be noted that only those students can apply online who pass the English ability test and interview, which is scheduled to be conducted on 16th February, 2018 in the Embassy of India, Tokyo. Those students who wish to apply for the scholarship and wish to appear in the English ability test and interview must send first the soft copy of the application form PDF neatly typed out and not hand written along with the required documents in PDF format by 8th February, 2018 to Ms. Muanpuii Saiawi, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Tokyo at e-mail ID iec.tokyo@mea.gov.in CC: edu.tokyo@mea.gov.in . After scrutinising the application form and the documents sent in the PDF format, the student will be called for the English ability test and interview on 16th February, 2018.

4. Documents which are to be sent in PDF format to Embassy are as follows:

(i) One set of scholarship application form PDF

(ii) Certificate of physical fitness PDF

(iii) All Academic certificates

(iii) Recommendation Letter, if any 

5. Please see the Guidelines PDFon scholarship issued by ICCR and List of Universities/Institutes PDF in India before filling the application form. 

6. After passing the English ability test and interview, the applicant has to submit the application form/upload the necessary documents online on the URL 205.147.97.190/iccr. Instructions for registration on the portal are given at Annexure-I PDF.
