Seminar on India-Japan Partnership: Wakayama 
 
     Embassy of India in Tokyo, in collaboration with the Wakayama Prefectural Government, hosted a Seminar titled ‘India-Japan Partnership: Wakayama’ on 13 November 2024 with the objective of furthering collaborations between India and Japan with a special focus on Wakayama Prefecture.
 
2. In his inaugural address, H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, spoke about India-Japan cooperation in a wide range of areas under the Special Strategic & Global Partnership. He highlighted upon India's economic growth and its attractiveness as a preferred business and investment destination, steps taken by the Government of India to improve the ease of doing business, and the opportunities available for Japanese businesses. In his remarks, H.E. Mr. Shuhei Kishimoto, Hon’ble Governor of Wakayama Prefecture, referring to Wakayama’s on going collaborations with Maharashtra, expressed a keen interest in deepening partnership with India.
 
3. The event was also addressed by Mr. Takeshi Nijima, President, Japan-India Friendship Promotion Group of Wakayama Prefectural Assembly, and Mr Kazuya Nakajo, Executive Vice President of JETRO.
4. The event featured presentations from representatives of Wakayama Prefectural Government, Hanwa Electronic Ind Co Ltd, NAKANO BC Co Ltd, Wakayama College of Global Business, Aisen Industrial Co Ltd, India Semiconductor Mission, Invest India, and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation.
 
5. The event concluded with a cultural performance, followed by an exhibition and a networking session, providing an opportunity to explore further collaborations.
