     Embassy of India, Tokyo in partnership with Invest India and JETRO have been hosting a virtual pitching series for Indian start-ups to showcase their ideas to Japanese investors. The second edition in the fourth series of this initiative focusing on the “Green Technology and Waste Management Sector” was held on 27 June 2024.

     The event commenced with operning remarks by Charge d’affaires ad-interim Mr. R. Madhu Sudan who expressed optimism about the strong economic partnership between India and Japan. He focused on the aspects of the India-Japan Clean Energy Partnership and encouraged the participants to have a vibrant exchange of opinions.

     The event featured pitches from seven startups, each presenting innovative solutions within the focus area. The presentations, provided a platform for founders to share their groundbreaking ideas and seek potential investment and collaboration opportunities.

     The event concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks by Ms. Shivangi Jain, Senior Assistant Vice President of Startup India. She acknowledged the participants' efforts and the supportive role of JETRO in making the session a success.

     Overall, the pitching session served as a valuable opportunity for co-operation between the start up ecosystems of India and Japan. Embassy has been undertaking outreach events to promote investment from Japan to India, with the goal of realizing the 5 trillion yen investment target by 2027.
