Seminar on "India’s Approach to Multilateralism, the G20, and the Global South”

The Embassy of India in Tokyo hosted a seminar on "India’s Approach to Multilateralism, the G20, and the Global South" on 21 June 2024.

2. The event was addressed by H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan and Ms Eenam Gambhir, Joint Secretary (United Nations Political), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

3. During the seminar, the speakers highlighted the commitment of India to multilateralism and reform of multilateral institutions, including the reform of the UN Security Council to reflect contemporary global realities. India’s proactive role as the G20 Presidency last year was discussed, emphasizing the strides made in promoting global cooperation on critical issues while prioritizing the needs of the Global South. The seminar further highlighted India's approach and commitment to advocating for the priorities of the Global South.
