India Market Seminar hosted by Embassy of India, Tokyo in partnership with Daiwa Asset Management Co. Ltd.,

The "India Market Seminar" was organized by Embassy of India in Tokyo on June 14, 2024, in partnership with Daiwa Asset Management Co. Ltd. The event drew a diverse crowd of approximately 150 attendees including asset managers, bank representatives, and brokerage firm personnel to delve into the burgeoning economic landscape of India.

Ambassador delivered the keynote address focusing on the growth potential of the Indian economy. Smt Debjani Chakrabarti, Minister Economic and Commerce presented on the opportunities presented by Indian economy. 

The seminar had a series of detailed presentations aimed at highlighting India's emerging status as an economic powerhouse and a lucrative destination for investment. An analyst from Daiwa provided an in-depth look at the latest Government policies in India and their potential impact on the investment climate. Another notable session involved sharing of compelling observations from recent business trips of Daiwa personnel to Mumbai and Bangalore, discussing the progress in infrastructure and digital transformation which are pivotal to understanding the investment potential of the Indian market. The seminar concluded with a networking and reception segment held at the Embassy.

Daiwa Asset Management currently manages five equity funds focused on India, whose cumulative holdings have crossed 500 Million Yen (Rs 27,000 crore) .

The Seminar was part of efforts by Embassy of India, Tokyo to continue supporting the development of informed, strategic business relationships between Japan and India.
