    Embassy of India in Tokyo celebrated Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan Day on 18 November 2024, in the esteemed presence of Shri Satish Mahana, Hon’ble Speaker, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, and Shri Vasudev Devnani, Hon’ble Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The event was also graced by Shri Kunwar Manvendra Singh, Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, and Deputy Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture Mr. Kou Osada.

2. Ambassador of India to Japan, Shri Sibi George, in his inaugural remarks welcomed the delegation from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, members of the Indian diaspora, and friends of India in Japan. He noted that while India and Japan share a Special Strategic & Global partnership built on mutual trust, shared values, and respect for rule of law, both Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan stand out as key stakeholders in this dynamic relationship.

3. Shri Satish Mahana, Hon’ble Speaker, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Shri Vasudev Devnani, Hon’ble Speaker, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, also addressed the audience on the development & progress made in both the states of India. In particular, they highlighted the regional heritage, development of modern infrastructure, and overview of policy initiatives across important sectors including education, health, tourism, industry & technology.

4. Kou Osada, Deputy Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, also addressed the gathering on the occasion, and mentioned the upcoming visit of a delegation from Yamanashi to India in the coming weeks. This was followed by a cultural program including Kathak performance, Ghoomar dance, among others.

5. The distinguished guests accompanied by Ambassador visited the One District One Product (ODOP) exhibition in the Embassy after the program.
