General Scholarship Scheme for Japanese Students for the Academic Year 2019-20

Government of India’s General Scholarship Scheme for Japanese Students for the Academic Year 2020-21

1.The Embassy of India presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Japan and has the honour to state that the Government of India has decided to offer 10 Scholarships for the Japanese students in Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in various subjects under the General Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2020-21.

2. From this academic year, the applicant will have to apply for the scholarship online on the ICCR portal (URL 205.147.97.190/iccr) http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in

The last date of submission of application online on the portal is 29 February 2020.

3. It may be noted that only those students can apply online and English ability test and interview, which is scheduled to be conducted on mid- February, 2020 in the Embassy. Those students who wish to apply for the scholarship and wish to appear in the English ability test and interview must send first the soft copy of the application form neatly typed out along with the required documents in PDF format by 31th January, 2020 to Prof. Siddharth Singh, Director(VCC), Embassy of India, Tokyo at Email ID dirvcc.tokyo@mea.gov.in , CC edu.tokyo@mea.gov.in . After scrutinising the application form and the documents sent in the PDF , the student will be called for the English ability test and interview on mid-February, 2020.

4. Documents which are to be sent in PDF format to the ICCR portal URL 205.147.97.190/iccr. http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ are as follows:

(i) One set of scholarship application form

(ii) Certificate of physical fitness

(iii) All Academic certificates

(iii) Recommendation Letter, if any

A blank copy of the above-mentioned documents at Para 4 (i) and 4 (ii), Guidelines on scholarship and List of Universities/Institutes in India are attached.
